Overheard a regular at my bar talking about his 'good enough' client calls
He said he stopped trying to be perfect and just aimed to be clear and helpful, which cut his prep time in half. Has anyone else found a simple change that made client work way less stressful?

My old boss used to make us write these huge reports for every little client update. It was a whole thing. I finally just started sending a three bullet point email instead, with the main takeaway and next steps. The clients loved it because they could actually understand it, and I stopped dreading the paperwork. That shift saved my sanity more than anything else.

My last apartment lease was 45 pages of legal jargon. The property manager gave me a one page summary of my actual responsibilities and due dates. That simple sheet got used weekly, the full doc never got opened again. So much communication is just noise hiding the few things people actually need to know.

That 'hiding the few things people actually need to know' part is spot on. I had a friend who worked at this nonprofit and they used to send out these massive newsletters nobody read. She finally just started a one paragraph update with the date of the next meeting and a link to the full report for anyone who actually wanted it. Her boss didn't even notice for like three months but everyone else was way happier.
