Showerthought: I was sure charging a $50 rush fee would scare clients off, but it's actually made my schedule way calmer.
After adding it to my contracts in January, three clients have paid it without question, and the extra cash covered a surprise car repair last month.

Used to think charging extra fees would make people run the other way. Tried it for a couple of late requests and it actually worked better than expected. Now I'm not as stressed about urgent projects because the fee makes people think twice.
