That stat about client churn rates on Upwork finally got me
I always thought switching clients was just part of the game, but then I read a post on a freelancer blog saying 70% of new freelancers quit within 6 months due to inconsistent work. It hit me that my own pattern of jumping between gigs every 2-3 months was part of that problem. Anyone else find a number like that that made you rethink your whole workflow?

70% quit? Sounds about right when you're basically a temp worker with a portfolio.

Wait, is the quit rate actually that high these days? I feel like @rayy83 might be mixing up freelancers with people who work at agencies or in-house because the numbers are pretty different. The stats I've seen show more like 40-50% of new freelance designers burn out within the first year, but that's usually from poor planning and not having a real portfolio to land good clients. Someone with a solid book of work and a few long term contracts can stick around a lot longer if they know how to manage their pipeline.
