Warning: I went to a co-working space in Austin and it was a total distraction trap

I visited a spot called Venture Commons last Tuesday thinking I'd get some quiet bookkeeping done. But the place had constant networking events (like every 2 hours) and people kept coming up to my table to chat. I barely finished one client's tax prep in 4 hours because of all the interruptions. Has anyone else found that co-working spaces kill your focus more than they help?

Guess my grand plan of looking wildly productive by burying my face in a spreadsheet backfired when someone asked if I was single. Hard to focus with all that social pressure to be interesting.

Lol right?? The moment you look even slightly busy people just HAVE to interrupt. It's like they see you focused and think "oh perfect, now's the time to ask about your love life." I swear spreadsheets are just social magnets for the nosiest questions.
