Found a $3 cast iron skillet at a garage sale last Saturday and it changed my meal prep completely
I used to burn everything in cheap non-stick pans and kept buying new ones every few months. This old skillet cleaned up with just salt and oil, and now I cook all my chicken and veggies for the week in one go. Anyone else had luck finding cheap cast iron secondhand?

Picked up a beat-up Wagner for $5 at a flea market last year and its still going strong. Honestly the best kitchen money I've ever spent.

Oh come on, are we really pretending these old skillets are magical or something? I tried one a friend gave me and it was a nightmare. It took forever to heat up, food stuck to it worse than any cheap non-stick, and you have to baby it with oil and cleaning. Plus they weigh a ton, so flipping eggs is a workout. @leoward might have luck with his beat-up Wagner, but I'm not spending my time scrubbing rust and seasoning a pan when a $20 Teflon one works fine for a year. Give me a lightweight modern pan any day, even if I have to replace it sometimes.
