I finally tried making my own vegetable broth from scraps and it turned into a salty mess.
I boiled a gallon of saved onion skins and carrot ends for 3 hours, but forgot I'd already salted the scrap bag, so now I have a pot of brine and I'm debating if I should just dilute it or start over completely.

Salting the scrap bag is such a classic move, lmao. You basically made a science experiment instead of soup. I'd just keep diluting it until it stops tasting like the dead sea.

Honestly @the_angela, is it ever that bad? I've dumped a whole scrap bag in before and just added a couple extra potatoes. It balances out. People act like you need a lab coat for stock, but it's just boiled veggie bits. Tbh, my last batch was fine, just needed an extra cup of water. It's not a science experiment, it's just soup that got a little too friendly with the salt shaker.
