My pressure cooker's seal split during a big batch of beans last night

Honestly, I was trying to cook two pounds of dried black beans to freeze for the month, and the main rubber ring just gave out with a loud hiss. I had to finish them in a regular pot for another hour, which used way more gas. Has anyone found a good cheap source for replacement seals, or should I just look for a whole new cooker?

Replacing just the seal is definitely the way to go, it's way cheaper than a new cooker. Check the model number on the bottom of your pot and search for it online. Generic seals on Amazon or eBay often work fine for a few bucks. Just make sure the size is right. A new ring should get you back in business for a long time, those things are built to last.

My old cooker did the same thing with a batch of chili last winter. It's always a fun surprise when your dinner tries to escape. Just order a new seal, it's not worth the drama of a whole new pot.
