PSA: I was wasting so much money on fresh herbs until last month

I used to buy those little plastic packs of basil or cilantro for like $3 each, and half would go bad before I used it. After my third moldy pack in a row, I saw a tip online about growing them from the scraps. I stuck the stems from a bunch of green onions in a glass of water on my windowsill, and they grew back in about a week. Now I just keep re-growing them instead of buying new. Has anyone else tried this with other herbs like mint or parsley?

Yeah, "never works" is rough... I found it helps to try the exact opposite of what you think you should do.

So last week I tried Derek's advice with my coffee maker. Instead of pressing the brew button, I unplugged the whole thing and chanted at it. Now my kitchen smells like burnt toast and regret, but hey, the opposite worked. It definitely didn't make coffee.
