Vent: Had to pick between a spray rig and hand brushing a big dining set
Client wanted this huge 10 piece dining set done in a rush for a wedding. I was torn between using my old Graco sprayer or just brushing it all out by hand. Went with the sprayer cause I thought it'd be faster. But the weather was humid and the lacquer blushed on me. Now I gotta sand back three chairs. Shoulda just stuck with the brush like I usually do. Anyone else get burned by trying to speed things up?

Gotta love when "saving time" ends up costing you triple the hours instead. Did that last month with a table and ended up kicking myself for abandoning the brush I know and trust.

Oh you mean that thing where you think you're being clever and efficient, but really you're just setting yourself up for a solid afternoon of regret? Been there with a dining table last spring. Swapped out my usual stain for some "miracle in a can" and spent the next two weekends stripping it back down to bare wood. Yeah, that saved me about negative 14 hours. I swear the only thing faster about those shortcuts is how fast they remind you why you had a system in the first place.
