My wife's comment about the garage floor made me rethink the whole project

We were walking out to the car last week and she said, 'You know, we spend more time looking at the floor in here than the walls.' I had been totally focused on shelving and lighting for my makeover. That one offhand comment made me stop and realize the stained, cracked concrete was the biggest visual problem. I shifted my budget and spent about $600 on a DIY epoxy floor kit instead of new cabinets. It took a full weekend to do the acid wash and two coats, but the change is huge. Has anyone else had a simple observation completely change their plan for the better?

Funny how that works, sometimes you just need that outside look. My husband did the same thing when I was picking paint for the living room, he just pointed at the awful old curtains and said they were the real problem. Spent the paint money on new ones and just touched up the walls, it made all the difference.

Disagree, floors get dirty anyway. @martin.margaret kept ugly walls.
