3 times I've had to go back to a hardware store because the kid at the register clearly just read the product label back to me without actually knowing if it was right for my project. I get that some of those workers are legit pros who've been doing floors or cabinets for years, but in my experience they're more often just people who needed a job and got a quick training video. The last guy who "helped" me with concrete sealer sold me something for outdoor use when I clearly said it was for a basement slab. I'm glad miles found someone good, but I wouldn't bet on that being the norm.

Oh man, this hits home. People don't realize how fast that stuff goes wrong if your mix is off or the room's too cold. That guy didn't just save your floor, he saved you from a nightmare demo job later. Trying to grind out a bad epoxy pour is a special kind of awful, all dust and regret. Good help in those stores is worth its weight in gold.
