Warning: My garage floor paint job took a full week, not the two days I planned.

I prepped the floor with a rented grinder for a day, which went fine. Then I applied the epoxy primer and waited the 24 hours it said on the can. The problem was the humidity in my Atlanta garage spiked right when I tried to put the top coat on, and it started to get cloudy and sticky. I had to stop, wait two more days for the weather to dry out, sand the messed up section back down, and start that part over. Has anyone else had a floor coating totally derailed by the weather?

Wait, did the primer can's instructions mention humidity levels? In my experience, the top coat is super picky, but the primer often has a humidity limit too, like below 85%. If it was humid enough to mess up the top coat, that primer might not have fully cured either, which could cause problems later.

Good point from @kelly.robin, maybe the primer's still soft underneath.
