Showerthought: I just found out how many people in my town have library cards

I was looking at the annual report from our local library in Springfield and saw that 68% of residents have an active card. I had no idea it was that high, and it made me feel good about the community. What's a local fact that surprised you recently?

Our town's trail count blew my mind too, over 2,000 people use them every week apparently.

Figured it was just me and maybe a couple of deer using those trails after dark. Two thousand people a week, that is pretty wild to think about. I half expect to see a line at the trailhead like a crowded supermarket on a Saturday. Guess I need to start going earlier to get my favorite loop before the rush.

That's a really cool thing to find out. Our town newsletter had a piece last month about how many people use the walking trails. The number was way higher than I guessed, which is pretty nice to hear. It makes the place feel more connected when you learn stuff like that. Makes me want to go check out the library report now too.

Right? Those numbers always surprise me. My own guess would have been like three people and a confused squirrel. Good to know the trails are getting some love though.
