Thought those magic erasers were a gimmick until my toddler drew on the wall with permanent marker
My kid got into my art supplies and drew all over the living room wall with a Sharpie. I grabbed one of those melamine sponges half expecting it to fail, but it came off completely in under 2 minutes. Has anyone else found a use for these things that surprised you?

Notice that pattern where stuff that seems too good to be true actually works, but we're all so skeptical from being burned before. These melamine sponges are a perfect example, they look like magic but really it's just basic science cleaning on a micro level. Kinda makes you wonder what other simple solutions we're overlooking because they look too simple to actually work.

So the $1.29 sponge from the dollar store literally melts away a grease stain that sat on my stovetop for 3 months? Ngl, I was so skeptical I actually threw the first one away thinking it was a scam. But then my neighbor used hers on a Sharpie mark on the wall and it vanished in seconds. Tbh, it does feel like cheating when something that simple works better than all the fancy sprays and scrubbing pads I've wasted money on. Now I'm side-eyeing every basic old-school solution I've been ignoring.

Wait, are old school solutions just better at everything and we've been tricked by fancy marketing this whole time?
