PSA: Went with a hybrid water heater instead of tankless and it saved me $300

My old 50 gallon tank started leaking last month. I was set on getting a tankless unit since everyone online raves about them. But the installer talked me into a hybrid heat pump model instead after showing me the numbers. First electric bill came in and it's actually $30 lower than before. Has anyone else tried these hybrid units or am I just lucky so far?

man i hear you but that's wild, i've been running a hybrid in minnesota for three winters now and never had a freeze up. maybe yours had a bad batch of coolant or something? i just make sure to plug mine in when it's below 20 and it's been solid every time. could be a one-off issue honestly.
