Shoutout to the guy who told me to stop using dish soap on my pressure washer

I was cleaning my deck last week and kept getting weak suds, then a contractor friend in Cincinnati saw my setup and said I was clogging the injector with regular Dawn. He showed me how to use the specific low-suds soap for my Simpson model, and the difference was like night and day... has anyone else made this simple mistake with their gear?

Ever wonder if using the wrong soap could actually damage the pump seals over time? I read somewhere that the detergents in regular dish soap can dry out the rubber parts, making them crack. That might be a bigger long-term headache than just weak cleaning power.
