Unpopular opinion: tile showers are overrated for everyday use
Had a week from hell with my master bath tile shower last month. Grout started cracking on day 3 after we moved in and by Friday I had pink mold spots showing up near the drain. My buddy swears by his fiberglass one piece from 2019 and says he wipes it down in 5 minutes flat. Honestly thinking about ripping this whole thing out for a solid surface pan and tile walls only up to shoulder height. Anyone else dealt with this grout nightmare or am I just bad at cleaning?

...just bad at cleaning, probably, because I've got the same problem and I'm pretty sure my grout has started judging me personally. I spend more time scrubbing that shower than I do actually standing in it. You're not wrong about the fiberglass, I've been eyeing my neighbor's setup with envy every time I see him walk out of his bathroom ten minutes before I'm even done squeegeeing mine.

Right? It's like the grout has a personality and it's just a passive-aggressive one. I swear mine holds onto soap scum just to spite me, like it's got a personal vendetta. I spend more time on my hands and knees in that shower than my cat does grooming herself, and she's obsessive. And the squeegee thing, I feel that in my soul - I've timed myself and it genuinely takes longer than the actual shower does. Fiberglass is a cheat code, honestly, probably invented by someone who hated scrubbing grout just as much as we do.
