Just realized my whole rock ID method was wrong after a trip to the Grand Canyon
I spent 3 days there trying to label everything as igneous, but a park ranger pointed out a massive sedimentary layer I completely missed. Anyone else get schooled by a specific place like that?

The Grand Canyon will humble you real quick.

You know what, @the_jamie, that's so true. It feels like we spend so much time in our own little worlds, staring at screens and thinking our problems are huge. Then you see something like that, something so old and so big, and it just resets your whole brain. It's a good kind of humbling, you know? It puts all the daily noise into its proper tiny place. We could all use a dose of that perspective now and then.

Yeah but does it really last though? You get that feeling for a day, maybe a week, and then you're right back to stressing over your inbox or some dumb comment online. The canyon is big, sure, but my rent is still due.
