My geology professor told me the local quarry was just boring limestone

He said there was nothing special to find there, but I went anyway last weekend. I found a small, perfect geode about the size of a golf ball in a pile of rubble. It was full of tiny, sparkly quartz crystals. Has anyone else had a teacher's advice turn out completely wrong in the field?

A perfect geode in boring limestone? That's wild.

Experts miss stuff all the time, it's why you gotta check for yourself.

Totally, my mechanic missed a cracked belt last month.
