PSA: I dropped $80 on a 'professional' rock hammer from a fancy catalog
The handle snapped on its third use on some basic shale near Sedona. My old hardware store hammer I got for $15 has lasted a decade. Anyone have a brand they actually trust for hard use?

My Estwing has been solid for years, no issues even on tough stuff.

Yeah, those catalog ones are all looks. I've had the same thing happen, just a pretty handle glued on a cheap head. For real work, you want a single piece of steel, handle and all. That old hardware store hammer is proof. Once you go with a solid one-piece design, you stop worrying about it breaking.
