Unpopular opinion: my old way of handling color bar was a total waste of time.

Used to spend an hour mixing and prepping a new bar for every single color pull, kept my bench a mess. Switched to a system where I batch prep three bars on Monday and just grab from the kiln as needed, saves me 40 minutes a day. Anyone else batch their color prep or am I just being lazy?

Totally get where you're coming from. That old routine sounds like a huge pain, honestly. Spending an hour just on prep work before you can even start the real job is brutal. Switching to batching is just smart, not lazy at all. It frees up your time and keeps your workspace from being a disaster. Honestly, it's a solid fix for a problem a lot of us just put up with for way too long.

lol is this really the big life hack we're celebrating? saving 40 minutes on color bars sounds like you just stopped doing busy work for no reason. honestly if your old way took an hour a day you were definitely overcomplicating it from the start. batching makes total sense, i'm just surprised it was ever a debate.
