I was sure my old caulk gun was fine until a big job in Denver last Tuesday
I was doing a storefront install, putting in a big insulated unit. I had my old metal gun, the one I've had for maybe eight years. I was about halfway through the second bead when the plunger just gave out. It didn't snap, it just stopped pushing and the whole thing locked up. I had sealant all over the gun and my gloves, and the bead was a mess. I had to stop everything, clean it off, and run to the supplier. I bought a new one for about forty bucks, a different brand. The new one has a smoother action and a better cut tip. I lost nearly an hour of work. What's a good, solid caulk gun brand that won't quit on you like that?

My buddy had his old gun fail right as he was sealing a shower pan, absolute nightmare. He swears by the Milwaukee cordless now, says the control is unreal for big runs.

Wait, right as he was sealing the pan? That's the worst possible time. I'd be so mad.

Right as he was sealing the pan? That's brutal. I can't even imagine the mess, like the sealant just oozing out everywhere while the gun jams up. You'd have to stop everything and try to clean it before it sets wrong. What a total waste of time and material, I'd be seeing red lol.
