Just realized my $80 glass suction cup handle snapped because I left it in the truck bed all winter
The cold made the plastic brittle and it broke clean off on a big storefront job. Anyone know a good brand that can handle being stored outside?

Check the material specs before you buy anything new. Some plastics are just doomed in the cold no matter the brand. I started keeping my good handle in a cheap insulated lunch bag in the truck, acts like a mini cooler. The temp swings from day to night are what really kills stuff, not just the deep cold.

Man, that lunch bag trick is smart. I had a buddy who used to keep his sunglasses in an old sock inside his glove box, thought that was enough. First real cold snap, the frame just snapped in half when he tried to put them on. He switched to a little soft cooler after that, and it's been a few years now with no issues. The temp swing thing really does get you, I've seen it happen with cheap plastic tool handles too.

Ever try wrapping stuff in a towel? I had a cheap foam koozie that saved my favorite water bottle from cracking last winter.
