Putty glazing in wet weather is a pointless battle.

Tried to set putty during a damp install yesterday, and it never fully cured. We ended up with gaps and had to seal everything twice with modern adhesive. That extra day of work could have been avoided. Sometimes tradition just gets in the way of a good job.

Honestly, when you said 'pointless battle,' it reminded me of this time we tried to glaze in drizzly weather. The putty just stayed soft, like silly putty, and we had to come back next week to fix it. I mean, why fight nature when there are better ways? Modern adhesives set even in damp air, so you save time and hassle. It's not about ditching tradition, but using what works for the job. Sometimes old methods just don't cut it in real world conditions.

Nothing says wasted effort like putty turning into goo in the drizzle. Sticking with old methods in bad weather is just making extra work for yourself. It's like trying to bail out a boat with a teaspoon. New adhesives would have fixed the window without the comeback trip. But I guess some folks need to learn the hard way. At least now you can laugh about it while using the right stuff.
