That architect in Denver insisted on 1/4 inch annealed for a 10-foot storefront window, saying 'the look is worth the risk', but I still think it was a bad call.

We argued for twenty minutes on-site last spring, and I've been waiting to hear if that huge pane has cracked from thermal stress or building movement yet, because I've seen it happen with thinner glass in big openings before. Anyone else had a client push for a spec that just felt wrong for the application?

Honestly, that reminds me of a client who wanted to skip expansion joints in a long brick facade for a cleaner look. We had to explain it wasn't just a suggestion, it was a requirement hiding in the details. Sometimes the fight is just getting them to see the why behind the code.

Skip expansion joints? That's insane.
