During a basement pest check, a wallet from ten years ago popped up on the floor

I was setting bait stations when I saw a wallet lying there that wasn't there before. It had money and an ID with the homeowner's picture, but it looked like them from way back. I felt stuck between handing it over and sounding crazy or just walking away and feeling bad. Now I'm wondering if I should tell them about this weird moment or let it slide.
