My old house had that same problem, a flicker in the dining room light. It drove me nuts for months. I finally swapped out a cheap power strip and it just stopped. Makes you wonder how many weird electrical gremlins are just bad cables, right?

Seriously! I bet half the "haunted house" stories are just old wiring and loose plugs.
