Question about handling a sudden guest lounge overflow
Last Tuesday, our office guest lounge got swamped when a 10am client meeting ran long and a 10:30 group showed up early. We only have seating for six and suddenly had twelve people standing around. I grabbed the folding chairs from the storage closet and set them up in the hallway just outside the door, then put out the spare coffee carafe there too. It wasn't perfect, but it kept the main area from feeling like a packed elevator. Has anyone else had to quickly expand lounge space into a hallway or adjacent room?

We had the same thing happen last month. I rolled our mobile whiteboard into the hallway to make a sort of divider, put a few plants from the break room in front of it, and set up chairs there. It made the hallway spot feel more like a planned waiting area and less like we just ran out of room.
