Why does nobody talk about keeping a spare toothbrush and phone charger in the guest room?
My cousin visited last month and forgot both, so I bought a cheap two-pack of chargers and a sealed brush from the dollar store for under $10 total. Anyone else find little things like that stop the midnight 'hey, do you have a...' texts?

Wondering why more people don't do this. It seems like basic hosting to me. Did your cousin seem relieved or even notice you had the stuff ready? I keep a spare charging block and cable in a drawer, but adding a toothbrush is smart. It's such a small cost to avoid that awkward last minute scramble. Makes guests feel like you actually planned for their comfort.

It's about reading the room with your guests. Some people would really appreciate the thought, others might find it too much. You just have to know your crowd.

Honestly, it feels like overkill. Most guests I know pack their own basics. It's not a hotel. Having a spare charger makes sense, but a toothbrush? That's weirdly personal. I'd feel awkward if a host handed me one, like they expected me to forget my own stuff. It just adds clutter to my cabinets for a maybe once a year visit.
