Razor cuts were on my never list until a coworker's quick show-and-tell
I always thought razor cuts made hair look choppy and damaged. Maybe it's just me but I stuck with regular shears for every client. Then my coworker did a quick demo on how to angle the razor for feathered ends. She worked on someone with straight, thick hair and the layers blended so smoothly. Now I add light razor work to blunt cuts for movement, and clients say it feels airy. I guess watching someone skilled do it right in front of you is what it took. It's crazy how one little technique can flip your whole approach.

Wait, she did that on thick hair? Razors always snag on thick hair when I try it.

Oh, I get what you mean! @kevin_lee75's conditioner trick helps, but have you tried using a fresh razor every time? Dull blades snag way more on thick hair. I switch mine out after three shaves max. What kind of razor are you using?

Switching after three shaves max? That's wild, my thick hair kills blades in two. Kevin_lee75's conditioner hack does help a bit, but for me, it's not enough. I use those cheap disposable ones and still have to change them every other shave. Thick hair is just a razor murderer, no way around it.

Ever try using conditioner first? Makes a huge difference for me.
