Vent: A client's color correction turned into a 7-hour marathon

They came in with box black over faded red, wanting a cool blonde. The lift took forever and I had to do three separate rounds of color remover just to get it to orange. Anyone else have a nightmare correction that ate up your whole day?

Ugh, that sounds brutal. I had a client with almost the same situation last month. What finally worked for me was a soap cap with 10 volume after the color remover, it seemed to pull out that last bit of warmth without destroying their hair. Those days just drain you, don't they?

Doesn't a soap cap risk drying it out, @nathanwalker? I've found a gentle toner works better for that last bit of warmth.
