My friend insisted we skip the main beach in Caye Caulker and go to a spot called 'The Split' instead
She said it was a quiet local hangout, but we showed up to find a huge party with a DJ on a pontoon boat and people jumping off a rope swing. We ended up staying for hours and it was way more fun than just sitting on sand. Has anyone else been given weirdly perfect advice for a place that sounded totally different?

Sometimes the wrong directions lead to the best spots.

Sure, but how often does that actually happen... most wrong turns just get you lost and waste your time. It's a nice thought for a poster, but real life is mostly just annoying detours. People act like every mistake is some secret gift, but that feels forced. Usually a wrong direction is just wrong.

Totally get where you're coming from. That overly positive stuff can feel pretty fake when you're just stuck in traffic or lost. Most of the time a wrong turn is just frustrating, not some magical life lesson. It's okay to admit that a lot of mistakes just plain suck.
