Push-up gains made me doubt the need for extra gear
I used to think home workouts were pointless without buying stuff. Sticking to basic moves like push-ups helped me beat my old record. Why do so many folks say you must have equipment to get fit?
What gets missed is how gear can trick you into focusing on the wrong thing. I got way stronger once I stopped chasing the next kettlebell and just tried to master my own body weight. Like, a regular push-up got easy, so I put a backpack full of books on. That simple change forced my muscles to adapt without buying a single thing. The marketing makes you feel behind without their stuff, but your own body is the most adjustable weight machine there is.
