PSA: My new trick for getting K-pop comeback news fast

I set up RSS feeds for a few trusted fan blogs that post updates right away. Now I hear about new music before my friends do.

RSS is such an old school move, gotta respect it. But a lot of those fan blogs killed their actual RSS feeds years ago, they mostly just push alerts through social media now. For faster stuff you might want to set up a private Twitter list with just those blogs or join their Telegram channels, that's where the real-time screaming happens. The RSS thing probably still works for some sites though, so if it's working for you that's what counts.

Funny how @barbarab38 brings up RSS fading out. I used to follow a niche music blog through RSS, and it was my morning ritual for years. Then one day the feed just stopped updating, and I found out they moved all their news to Instagram stories. Missed a whole album drop because of that. Now I check their Telegram, but it's not the same as having everything in one reader. Makes you wonder how many good feeds got lost in the shift.

Setting up RSS feeds is smart, but it's tricky these days. I read a piece about how many music blogs are dropping RSS for social media, just like @valw69 said happened to them. It's a shame because RSS lets you control your updates without algorithm changes. I've tried using a mix of Telegram and Twitter lists, but it never feels as organized. Having everything in one place was the best part of old school RSS.
