Stood my ground on a lather choice today, glad I did

So this guy comes in for a shave, right? He's all about that sandalwood lather. But I remember from last time he got a bit red after. I had to think fast. Do I just go along with it or say something? I told him straight up about the rash risk. He wasn't happy at first, but we picked a different scent. In the end, he said thanks for looking out. It's stuff like this that makes our job more than just cutting hair. You gotta care for people too.

That line about it being "more than just cutting hair" really hits home. I see the same thing with good mechanics or IT guys who explain the "why" behind their work. It's that extra step that builds real trust, not just a transaction.

Do you notice this with doctors who explain your treatment options?

Not sure I agree. Sometimes people just want what they asked for, you know? Getting too personal can cross a line.
