Looking to wake up my 2021 F-150 3.5 EcoBoost a bit. I keep seeing 5 Star Tuning and Bully Dog pop up in searches. Anyone run either on their truck? Not sure which way to go—some say Bully Dog is simpler, others swear by custom tunes from places like 5 Star. What’s been your experience?

Bully Dog is fine for a basic setup, but if you've got any mods or want more control over the tune, 5 Star is the way. They actually dial in the tune based on your specific truck and mods, not just a generic file. My mileage even improved a bit after their tow tune. Worth the extra couple bucks.

I've had both on different trucks. Bully Dog is okay if you just want a quick canned tune and don't want to mess with anything. But I switched to 5 Star Tuning on my current F-150 and it's night and day. The transmission tuning alone makes it feel like a different truck, way smoother and pulls harder through the whole band. Their customer service was really helpful too when I had questions.
