Chatting with my neighbor about those new AI music tools
He said they're not replacing artists, just giving them new brushes. Anyone tried Suno or Udio for a real project?

Wait, the same sound for everyone? @jesse_west have you actually listened to the stuff these tools make? I tried feeding Suno the same prompt three times and got a synth-pop track, a folk ballad, and something that sounded like industrial noise. That's not a factory press, that's a box of random parts.

New brushes" is a really nice way to put it, but I see it more like a factory press. It makes the same kind of sound for everyone, just faster. The human spark that makes art feel real is what gets lost.

Leo beat me to the point about variation, which just proves some of us think faster than others. A factory press would at least be consistent, this thing gives you a synth-pop disaster one day and a folk ballad the next. Maybe I'm just jealous it can finish a song faster than I can find my guitar pick.
