Ran into a friend at the Denver airport who said AI art is just 'fancy copy-paste'
He argued it can't create anything truly new, but I showed him a piece I generated last week that remixed three different art styles into something I've never seen. Has anyone else had to defend the creative potential of generative models to a skeptic?

Wait, isn't that like saying a painter is just copying what they see? I mean, the AI is putting things together in new ways, that's the whole point. Your remix example is exactly that.
