Showerthought: I just read that AI can now find new drugs faster than people can
I was looking at a report from a lab at Stanford University. It said their AI system found a possible new antibiotic in under two months. That kind of work used to take a team of people many years. It makes me wonder if this speed is good for safety, or if we might miss problems. Has anyone else seen data on how well these AI-found drugs work in real tests?

That Stanford report said the AI looked at over 100 million chemical compounds. If it can find even one good antibiotic that fast, it's worth the risk to test it out.

Forget safety, this is a total game changer. We need new drugs fast to fight superbugs and save lives. If a computer can find a needle in a haystack in two months instead of ten years, we have to run with it.
