That demo of AI doing contract review in 30 seconds blew my mind

Was at a legal tech meetup downtown last Tuesday and some guy showed me a tool that scans a 50 page contract and flags all the risky clauses in under a minute. I spent like 2 hours doing that manually at my old job. The thing caught a weird indemnity clause I would have missed too. Anyone here actually use these for real work or is it mostly hype?

Wait, you saw that at a meetup too? I tried a similar demo last month and honestly it caught stuff I usually skim over when I'm tired. The real test is if it handles your weird state laws though, my buddy found one that missed a California specific clause. I'd say use it as a backup check, not your first pass.

Oh sure, let me trust an AI to catch every weird state law quirk. What could possibly go wrong? I'll just feed it my 50 page contracts and hope it doesn't think "indemnity" means a free sandwich. The guy at my meetup swore it handles everything, but I bet it has a meltdown over a Tennessee specific zoning clause. How much you wanna bet the next version will miss a comma and send you to court?
