Update: My 11 year old showed me how to use an image tool and it finally clicked for me
We sat at the kitchen table in Denver for about 40 minutes while she walked me through typing a sentence and getting a picture back, and I actually came up with three good uses for my shop signage before she got bored and left.

Oh man that's awesome! I heard on a podcast that kids pick up this stuff way faster than us because they just mess around with it instead of being scared to break something.
