Anime chats now feel shallow compared to my old forum days
I used to log into specific anime forums every night after school. We had threads that went on for pages, really digging into shows like Fullmetal Alchemist. People posted long thoughts on themes and character growth. Now, most talk happens on quick social media with one line replies or just pictures. It is like no one has time for a real chat anymore. I enjoy the jokes and all, but it feels empty sometimes. Where do you go for those good, long talks about anime now? Did we lose that for good, or is there a secret spot I have not found?

You can still find those long talks on some anime subreddits. The episode discussion threads for shows like Frieren get hundreds of comments breaking down every detail. The deep chat never really left, it just moved to different spots online.

The Frieren subreddit hits 800 comments per thread. @phoenix549 is spot on about the depth still being there. But the feel is different from old forum days. Now it's a flood of takes that get buried in hours. Back then, you'd have the same crew debating for weeks. Does that slower pace just not exist anymore?

Totally feel that. I found a smaller Discord for an older show and we still have those slow burn talks, just gotta hunt for the right corner of the internet.
