Burned $50 on a premium crunchyroll membership before realizing free version works fine

I paid for a year of the mega fan membership just to watch one show in simulcast, but the ads were gone after like 3 episodes anyway with the free tier. Has anyone else fallen for this trap or did I just miss the fine print?

You say "burned $50" like it's some huge loss but that's less than what people spend on takeout in a weekend. If you really needed the simulcast that bad for one show then you got what you paid for. The ads disappearing after 3 episodes on the free tier has been a thing for years, its not hidden fine print its just how they roll out the ad load.

Wait, did they really drop the ads after just 3 episodes? I remember when I signed up for a trial we had to sit through like six straight minutes of ad breaks and @kevin_wells46, that whole "it's been a thing for years" bit just reminded me of how I once paid for a full year of a streaming service just to watch a single reality show that got cancelled after one season.
