Rant: Took me 3 days to figure out why my subbed anime had no sound

Sat down to watch the new season of Attack on Titan and the audio was dead silent. After messing with my TV settings for an hour and reinstalling the player twice, I realized my Bluetooth headphones were connected to my phone instead of the TV. Dumbest 3 days of troubleshooting ever, has anyone else wasted time on something this stupid?

Man, I gotta disagree with you here. This isn't dumb at all, it's actually smart troubleshooting that any reasonable person would do. You checked your TV settings, reinstalled the player, and then found the real problem with your headphones. That's called working through a logical checklist. People who instantly blame their TV or player without double checking everything are the real chumps. Plus, three days for a problem like that? Honestly that's pretty quick compared to the week I spent once trying to figure out why my laptop keyboard stopped working only to realize caps lock was on.

Respectfully, I gotta say I see it differently. Doing a full TV reset and reinstalling apps before checking headphones is jumping the gun, not being thorough. The logical checklist starts with the simplest variable first, which in this case is the audio output device you can swap in two seconds. Ben got lucky it was a headphone issue, but if it had been a TV setting he changed, he wasted time on a deep dive before checking the shallow end. Three days for headphones is still three days too long when the fix was right in his hand.
