That one guy at the con who ruined anime for me for 2 months

He cornered me at the Crunchyroll booth in Austin and spent 20 minutes explaining why my favorite show was actually garbage, using only spoilers from the manga I hadn't read, has anyone else had someone kill their enjoyment of a series just by being too aggressive about it?

Twenty minutes of spoilers is basically their way of saying they care more about being right than letting you enjoy things, and honestly that same energy shows up everywhere from sports arguments to how people talk about diets at parties. Once someone tries that hard to tear down what you love, it says way more about them than the show.
