Dont buy those cheap cedar planter boxes from the big box store, mine rotted in 8 months
Paid $89 for a pair of those preassembled cedar boxes at Lowes last spring. Looked great for like 2 months. Then the corners started splitting and the bottom boards just turned to mush. Took them apart and the wood was maybe 1/2 inch thick and not even real cedar, just cedar colored pine or something. I could snap a board with my hands. Rebuilding with proper 2x6 cedar from a local lumber yard cost me $140 total but these will last way longer. Anyone else get burned by those flimsy kits? What do you use that actually holds up?

Did you check for drainage holes before the rain hit?
