Found out plywood has a stamped grade stamp with the mill location and date
I was ripping some 3/4 inch sheets for a raised garden bed last weekend and flipped one over, there was a tiny code stamped on the edge that tells you the exact mill and week it was made. Apparently my plywood came from a plant in Oregon that shut down in 2019, so this stuff is older than I thought. Anyone else ever dig into those stamps or just buy by thickness like I used to?

Heard a contractor buddy mention those stamps once, said they're basically the plywood's birth certificate. Makes you wonder how much other lumber out there is secretly older than the store shelves it sat on. I'm definitely checking every sheet I cut now, even if it's just to see where the stuff traveled from.
