I let my neighbor talk me into helping pour his 12x16 slab in July and it wrecked my back for a month
Two summers back my neighbor Dave asked me to help pour a 12x16 pad for his shed, and I said sure since he helped me move a fridge once. It was 94 degrees in Topeka that day, we mixed 30 bags by hand in a wheelbarrow because his mixer died, and he kept saying we were almost done while I was sweating through my shoes. I tweaked something in my lower back around bag 22 and could not stand up straight for three weeks after. Now I will not touch a pour over 8x8 without a rented mixer and at least two other guys. Anyone got a rule for when to just say no to a favor like that?
