Just figured out why my raised bed boxes keep twisting after winter
I noticed my cedar boxes in the yard were racking sideways after just one season, and I finally measured it at about 3/8 inch out of square on the long sides. Turns out I was only driving screws straight down through the top of the boards while my neighbor Dave uses galvanized corner brackets on the inside face, and his have stayed true for 4 years now. The wood moves with moisture and there's nothing holding the joint against that sideways pull, so the whole frame walks out of shape. Anyone else switch to brackets after watching a box twist, or do you brace it some other way?
