My neighbor's one comment changed how I frame sheds forever

I was building a 10x12 shed in my backyard in Phoenix and my neighbor Mike walks over and says "you know those studs are gonna twist if you don't brace them right?" I had been just nailing them in without cross bracing like I saw on YouTube. Now I add diagonal bracing on every wall before sheathing and I haven't had a single wall rack on me since. Has anyone else had a random neighbor drop wisdom that saved your build?

Hold on though, I've framed plenty of sheds without any cross bracing and they're still standing just fine after years. Just seems like overkill for a shed if you use decent plywood sheathing and nail it right, doesn't it?

Got a buddy who tried this exact approach on his shed. Second big storm we had, the whole thing twisted like a pretzel and collapsed on his mower. He had good plywood sheathing too, but said he could hear it racking before it went.
